Setting up Google Sites with a domain root mapping.

Well, it didn't take long for me to get something to write here...

okay so the problem is as follows, I've switched to google sites and it all works. It also lets me map subdomains like www.tedman.com to google sites. The problem is, it doesn't let you map the root domain like tedman.com to google maps.

After searching and searching, there wasn't a good solution around, some hacks were posted and all but that's about it.

My solution is simple and not too bad of a hack. I'm using godaddy as my registrar and they allow domain forwarding. So...
1) setup your google site
2) map your www sub domain to the google site (i.e. www.tedman.com -> ghs.google.com.)
3) forward your root domain to your subdomain... yep that's right tedman.com -> www.tedman.com, it works fine (so far...)

now... time for me to migrate my old tech notes from my previous site to this page...
